Ph.D. position available at the University of Oxford-Centre for Medicines Discovery in partnership with AstraZeneca-Cambridge

University of Oxford, Oxford, United Kingdom
Application deadline: 08 Mar 2021

Centre for Medicines Discovery (CMD) are recruiting a PhD student to investigate regulatory aspects of protein mega-complexes involved in the Integrated Stress Response (ISR), a signalling pathway involved in antiviral responses and cancer development. This is a joint project between the University of Oxford-Centre for Medicines Discovery (CMD) and AstraZeneca-Cambridge. The project offers excellent opportunities to learn biochemical, biophysical and structural biology methods such as X-ray crystallography and single-particle Cryo-EM focusing on drug discovery.

The student will be hosted at CMD’s Protein Crystallography group and supervised by Professor Dr. Frank von Delft and Dr. Gustavo Bezerra. As part of this BBSRC-funded PhD studentship, the candidate is expected to spend at least three months at the research facilities of AstraZeneca in Cambridge.
