Postdoc opening to study mechanisms of CRISPR-Cas at Cornell University

Cornell University, Cornell University , United States
Application deadline: 30 Jun 2021

An NIH-funded postdoc position is available in Ailong Ke’s Lab at Cornell University, Ithaca, USA. The main theme of the lab is to understand the underlying mechanism of RNA-guided processes inside cell. Projects for postdoctoral training typically involve nucleic acid biochemistry, cryo-EM based structure determination, and further functional validation in vivo and in vitro. Please visit our laboratory and departmental websites for research and publication details (Molecular Cell. 2019 Jun 6;74(5):936-950. Science. 2018 Jul 6;361(6397). Nature. 2017 Oct 5;550(7674):137-141. Cell. 2017 Jun 29;170(1):48-60. Nature. 2016 Feb 25;530(7591):499-503.).

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experiences in biochemistry and cryo-EM (or X-ray crystallography). There is routine access to 200 and 300 keV electron microscopes. The trainee will interact on a day-to-day basis with peers in the areas of genome editing and single-molecule biophysics. We aim to provide an interdisciplinary training environment to efficiently convert high-resolution mechanistic understandings to novel genome editing applications.

Candidates are expected to have published at least one first-author paper in a reputable journal and hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree before arrival. Please send your CV, list of publications, and referee contact list to ailong.ke@cornell.edu before June 30th, 2021 for consideration.
