The Hospenthal lab is looking for an enthusiastic PhD student and postdoc to join the team. They are located at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biophysics (IMBB) at ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
They study the molecular mechanisms that govern natural transformation in bacteria – an important mode of horizontal gene transfer. They use complementary approaches including cryo-EM, biophysical methods and in vivo functional assays to study the protein machineries involved in this process.

Candidate profile:
· Degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology or related curriculum.
· Motivation to tackle comlex and interesting mechanistic questions.
· Ability to work independently, as well as to contribute to a collaborative lab culture.
