A postdoctoral position is available to study HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza A Virus using cryoEM/ET methods.
Mothes Lab can apply various biophysical methods including cryoEM and cryo-electron tomography (cryoET) to understand the conformational sampling of viral glycoproteins, how they mediate entry into cells and yet at the same time evade innate and adaptive immune recognition (PMC10686830; PMC11449073; PMC8673750).
Candidates with a strong background in cryoEM single particle analyses with membrane proteins are especially encouraged to apply.
Lab members are embedded in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research program that applies imaging across all scales from living organisms to single molecules (https://medicine.yale.edu/lab/mothes/).
Yale CryoEM Resource is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to cryo-electron microscopy and houses advanced cryo-electron microscopes including Titan Krios, Glacios and Aquilos 2 (cryoem.yale.edu).
The salary follows Yale’s postdoctoral compensation policy. Please send a full CV and the name and address of three references by email to Drs. Walther Mothes (walther.mothes@yale.edu) and Wenwei Li (wenwei.li@yale.edu).
