Investigate bacteriophage structures and infection mechanisms using advanced cryo-EM.
CEITEC Masaryk University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Plevka Lab, led by Professor Pavel Plevka, in Brno.
The laboratory investigates virus structures and molecular mechanisms of infection, with research encompassing bacteriophages infecting pathogenic bacteria as well as human picornaviruses and flaviviruses.
The position offers access to state-of-the-art structural biology infrastructure, including cryo-EM and cryo-ET, to investigate viral architecture, infection-associated structures and molecular interactions between bacteriophages and their bacterial hosts.
Candidates with backgrounds in structural biology, virology, phage genetics, molecular biology or cryogenic electron microscopy are particularly relevant. The laboratory's research is supported by major external funding, including an ERC Consolidator Grant.
