The kick-off procedure is now finalized!

Following the two videos introducing iNEXT-Discovery, the virtual kick-off meeting, the virtual General Assembly, and the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) meeting, for which we have posted previous news, we did not stop!

We had virtual meeting also with:

  • The User Panel, with which we discussed procedures to increase user engagement in the project, survey user satisfaction, and find ways to attract new users. A new post-visit questionnaire has been developed, that will be available ot all users when their project is finalized, reporting on various aspects of their experience, and giving them the opportunity to provide feedback to improve our procedures.
  • The Review Panel, which is composed by the Moderators, with whom we discussed the procedures of the review; several suggestion to improve the "help text" in our application forms are already implemented, and it has also been agreed that the moderators can act as the "second reviewer" whenver they feel comfortable and want to ensure that applications are reviewed in a timely fashion.
  • The Reviewers, for which we hel two Q&A sessions; we got valuable input for structuring the proposals, and clarified several issues about how to judge new users that are not experts in Structural Biology. We also agreed that the reviewers are seen as iNEXT-Discovery ambassadors, that will take opportunities to increase awareness of ïNEXT-Discovery in their local and scientific communities.

This series of virtual meeting, in place of the 3-day Kick-off event, were extremely useful and were collectively attended by about 150 different scientists.

In parallel with these, we a series of four JRA meeting is ongoing; a report for these will follow.
